47 DEAD AS TWO BUSES COLLIDE IN ZIMBABWE
HARARE, ZIMBABWE: Forty-seven people were killed in Zimbabwe Wednesday when two buses collided on a road between the capital Harare and the eastern town of Rusape, police told AFP. "We confirm 47 people have died in a road traffic accident at the 166-kilometre peg along the Harare-Mutare highway," police spokesman Paul Nyathi said. On Twitter, the state-run Herald newspaper said pictures from the scene were too graphic to post. The paper said the morgue at the local public hospital in Rusape had run out of space and sought help from a private funeral parlour to take in some of the corpses. Traffic accidents are common in Zimbabwe, where roads are riddled with potholes due to years of underfunding and neglect, but the highway where the accident occurred had been recently resurfaced. The National Enquirer has denied that the Saudi government hacked Jeff Bezos' phone and leaked texts that exposed his affair to Lauren Sanchez.
American Media Inc took to Twitter on Sunday to deny recent claims from Gavin de Becker, a longtime security consultant who was hired by Bezos.
The tabloid magazine insisted there was no third party involvement in its affair coverage, claiming that Sanchez's brother Michael was its only source.
'Despite the false and unsubstantiated claims of Mr de Becker, American Media has, and continues to, refute the unsubstantiated claims that the materials for our report were acquired with the help of anyone other than the single source who first brought them to us,' the company said in a statement posted to Twitter. Is this what human colonies will look like on Mars? NASA announces three finalists in its Martian habitat design competition
NASA has announced three finalists in an ongoing design competition tasking engineers to dream up sustainable dwellings that can be 3-D printed on Mars. Finalists split a prize pot of $100,000 and include SEArch+/Apis Cor, out of New York who took first place, Zopherus from Rogers, Arkansas who came in second, and Mars Incubator out of New Have Connecticut who took the third spot. The three contestants were chosen out of a pool of 11 candidates and were scored based on 'architectural layout, programming, efficient use of interior space, and the 3D-printing scalability and constructability of the habitat.' From here, according to NASA, teams will go on to compete in a showdown with a prize pool of $800,000 -- the final competition phase slated to take place in early May. Source
